UCLA has received a verbal commitment from high scoring
midfielder/forward Taylor Cochran of Lake Stevens, Washington.
Cochran picked UCLA over 20 other schools who were interested.
This past fall, in high school, Cochran helped Lake Stevens to the Class 4A state semifinals, quite an accomplishment for a program that had never won a postseason game until 2005 and had made only one previous state playoff appearance. Cochran was a first-team All-State selection.
Cochran plays club for the Northwest Nationals U18 Fusion, coached by
Tami Bennett.
Last summer, Cochran helped the Washington 89 ODP team win the Region IV championships in Las Vegas. After competing in the ODP nationals,
Cochran joined the Region IV team for a trip to Costa Rica where she
scored four goals in the first two matches as the team went 3-0-1.
