Congratulations to BU12 Red, GU12 Blue & Arsenal.  Each team won the Baker Blast Championship this past weekend!

Coach Collings GU12 Red team fought its way through very tight bracket play securing a perfect 30 points.  Perfection is what was needed as the other two teams in their bracket each had 29 points thereby one of those teams did not advance.  The BU12 Red team scored a massive 28 goals against while not allowing a single goal.  The final game was a convincing 3-0 victory and the first of the day in what would be three for Northwest Nationals.

Coach Metzger’s GU12’s came in first during bracket play with 28 points.  Their first game vs FC Alliance Gold notched a 4-0 win and then in game two against Lake Stevens Eclipse posted another shutout with a 2-0 win.  Their final bracket game vs Crossfire Seid secured first place in the group with a convincing 2-0 victory.

Maybe most impressive for the GU12 Blue team statistically was 15 goals scored and zero goals against.  Way to go girls!

In the final championship of the day, Coach Granade locked up the sweep for NWN in the championship games for the Baker Blast.  Arsenal won it’s group with 27 points with bracket victories over WFC Rangers Gold (2-0), SK United (2-1) and IPL South District Boys (4-0).  The final over the very talented CCS Ajax squad from Canada was a rematch from last year hard fought 1-1 tie.  The first 20 minutes of the game proved to be too much for Ajax as Arsenal jumped all over Ajax 3-0 with the game ending in a 4-0 score.  Arsenal scored 17 goals during the weekend giving up its lone goal against in their first bracket game.

In all, NWN scored a whopping 60 goals for and a single goal against.  Great attacking soccer Northwest Nationals!!!
