The Northwest Nationals Premier Soccer Club have added state and regional ODP coaches Scott Newman Mark Szabo to the coaching staff for 2008-09.

Newman coached the Washington ’88 girls to a national championship and the G89 was runner-up. In all, he has been a Region IV ODP coach for 14 years, 16 years with the state team and 15 seasons at the prep level. Newman also served as an assistant at both Montana and Willamette.

Szabo is joining NWN after spending the past five years with Emerald City FC. His past experience also includes head coach of the Washington ODP team, the Shoreline Community College women and the Lakeside High School boys. A Seattle native, Szabo attended O’Dea High School and the University of Washington. He was involved with four national championship teams while playing for the Hibernian Saints.

In other news,  NWN veteran coach Mark Metzger is now in charge of the BU16 Blue.
