Message to Northwest Nationals Families, Coaches and Friends;
This message is meant to inform, and communicate the role that Washington Youth Soccer is taking in your club from this day forth.
Your club has been embroiled in some rather contentious and serious issues. These issues have the potential to undermine the overall success of the club. It is our intent to now step in to assist the club in leadership and governance issues, as well as coaching selection and decisions, for the next 6 to 12 months. This action will insure the stability of the club now and into the future. We do not enter into this arrangement lightly. Washington Youth Soccer is committed to utilizing our resources to manage daily operations, tryouts, team formations, coaching contracts, financial assistance and leadership.
After careful professional review of Northwest Nationals Bylaws, we are going to submit changes, that address balance of authority, policies requiring transparency, elections, AGM procedures, and other ambiguities that are currently in the existing documents. We will submit those for review and comments in 30 days. Once the bylaws are approved, we will begin the process of conducting elections for Board members. If you are interested please prepare a letter of interest and a resume.
Dave Schumacher, Coaching Director of Washington Youth Soccer has been tasked to collaborate, review and assist Cliff McCrath with selections of coaches, DOC’s and a Technical Director. Dave will report directly to the Washington Youth Soccer Board of Directors his findings and recommendations.
This environment is fertile ground for miscommunications and mistrust to further erode the club. We strive to have honest communication and provide a common sense approach to solving these issues. In the spirit of cooperation, we ask your patience, trust, respect and confidence that we will find solutions to these stated issues.
In closing, we have a difficult journey ahead of us, it will not be an easy one, however it is not insurmountable. Northwest Nationals parents, players and coaches are passionate, dedicated and committed to the teaching and advancement of your players.
