As discussed in the attached letter (click here) from WYS President Doug Andreassen, the WYS Board and the Northwest Nationals Board have finalized and recommend approval of the attached new bylaws (click here) for Northwest Nationals. The bylaws are a model that WYS intends to distribute to all clubs in the State for consideration and adoption in the next year. We will have the following meetings on the bylaws:
- Saturday, September 26, 7:00 p.m. at Meadowdale HS: Town hall meeting for all parents and coaches to address any questions about the proposed bylaws.
- Saturday, October 3, 7:00 p.m. at Meadowdale HS: Meeting of NWN members under current bylaws to vote on adoption of the proposed bylaws. This meeting is open to all parents and coaches.
If the new bylaws are approved, we will then quickly move forward with elections for positions on the Board that are scheduled for election in 2009. The key dates for the election are:
- Friday, October 9: Deadline for nominating candidates for open Board positions. Nominations should be submitted to Mr. Terry Fisher, Executive Director/CEO of Washington Youth Soccer at Terry@wsysa.com. Once candidates are confirmed, their resumes and statements of interest will be made available for review.
- Sunday, October 18: Deadline for each team to designate a voting member (and alternate) and to provide that information to the Club secretary at nwnadmin@comcast.net.
- Sunday, November 1, 5:00 p.m. at Meadowdale HS: Meeting of NWN members to address election of Board members and to conduct other business as necessary. This meeting will be open to all parents and coaches.
