NWN G98 RED CAPTURE U-12 STATE TITLE 2-1 OVER WPFC 98 BLACK 

On Saturday April 30, 2011, NWN Coach Eugene Poublon and his G98 Red tem started their magical Championship weekend with a 6-2 win over defending state Champion Crossfire 98A Reece in the Washington Championship Cup State Semi-Finals.  Speedy Forwards Alexis (3) and Nicki (2) combined for 5 goals as crafty mid-fielder BeBe scored her 1st goal of the season to cap a decisive win over the stunned defending Washington State Champions.  Kai served up two assists while NWN G98 Red mids and defenders dominated the game.

On Sunday May 1, 2011, the NWN G98 Red Girls battled a big, fast and powerful WPFC 98 Black team that beat Nationals early this year 1-0 in the NWCL Final...Nikki got Coach Poublon’s girls on the scoreboard first with an early goal in a closely contested first half that saw WPFC 98 Black draw even 1-1 by half-time. The two teams battled in the 2nd half and with under a minute remaining, the fleet footed forward Mary battled her way into the WPFC box and was fouled with under 30 seconds to play in regulation.  NWN four year veteran Kai stepped up to take the possible game winning penalty kick and in dramatic fashion laced a rocket into the back of the net over the outstretched hands of the WPFC goalie to give Coach Poublon and his girls the Washington State Championship Cup State Championship!!!

The weekend was a true magical weekend and team effort for all of the NWN G98 Girls: Hannah, Kai, Jamie, Lindsey, Abby, Katie, Alexis, Mia, Sophie, Jordan, Bebe, Laura, Malia, Nikki, Jordan and their outstanding Coach Eugene Poublon.  The G98 Girls now will ready themselves to represent Washington State in the US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals in Boise, ID on June 20-26.

The NWN G98 Girls want to congratulate Eastside FC 98 Red, Washington Premier FC 98 Black,  and Crossfire Premier 98A (Reece) all for advancing to the State Cup semifinals and/or championship game.
